Since some people, who unfortunaltly did not make it to visit my vernissage
, are dying to know how the opening of my exhibit went, here a little summing up:
the weekend before the vernissage I finally had to print the pieces for the exhibition and to bring them in a proper shape - that was quite a task, but the result was finally satisfying enough to start my very first analog presentation of the series "nightshift".
I was sharing the exhibition space with a furniture designer form the southern part of germany - his name is sismann and his stools are just gorgeous hanging in the middle of the ca. 50sqm big room - the walls were mine!
One day before the opening sismann and I had an appointment in the afternoon to do the hanging - in the early evening we were done.
The day of the opening:
I was quite pumped out on this day and was still uncertain if anybody I invited would actually come. Reinhild and Stephanie, who are part of the team running the Heimatdesign gallery, told me, that there were several other exhibitions in town on that day and that they do not think a lot of people, who usually come to their openings, would make it.
During the hours before the opening I received a lot of emails and sms notes form people I invited, telling me they would not come.
An hour before the opening Matthias, one of my long term friends who´s profession is cook and who simply does not have any connection to art, picked me up at my office and we had a 10 minutes walk to the gallery. There was nobody exept of the staff and sismann.

After all it was quite surprising that in the moment of the opening the room of the exhibit was (almost
) full of people.
Among the crowd - still not big enough to fill a quarter of the room - three deviants!

Oliver, who annouced his visit, came form Mainz and booked a hotel room for the night; a day later we were shooting together with my neighbour in Essen - the results of the shooting are already online:
Eric annouced his visit aswell, but coming all the way form Utrecht just to visit my exhibit, was an effort I did not want to believe in, until he finally stood in front of me introducing me to his charming wife.

Meeting Wibke, I found out that she was living right next door to the gallery - she´s a very nice person aswell!
At about 22:00 we finally closed the gallery and had diner giving me the rest - my bed was finally waiting for me.
I would finally like to thank all my supporters and visitiors of this event!
